Dear Fellow Taxpayer: HELP KILL THE RAT TAX!!! It’s the largest local tax ever in the history of the U.S., and we can stop it if we work together. We’re talking about the “Roads and Transit” (RAT) package (Proposition 1) on the November ballot. You’re being asked to give Sound Transit and the RTID the power to impose a never-ending sales and car –tab tax to pay for light rail. So far, we’ve been able to price it out at $157 billion (yes, BILLION). That’s $2000 per year per household. IT'S NOT A SMART SOLUTION & IGNORES MANY BETTER ALTERNATIVES. -------------------- WE NEED YOUR HELP TO DEFEAT THIS TAX We're up against a multi-million dollar advertising campaign that uses YOUR tax dollars to hype this proposition.

Don't be fooled by the slick commercials that make promise they can't keep. This is opposed by a trans-partisan coalition of business, environmental, citizen and neightborhood groups -- including THE SIERRA CLUB.
